After a long, hard week of life, a massage is just what you need. However, it can be hard to find an affordable studio. Not so with Elements Massage.

A lot of people think that massages are out of reach for them. I used to be one of those people. My friends would tell me that they’d had one and I yearned for the feel of a massage table underneath me. Sadly, I had a small child, a husband, a job and a million financial responsibilities. I assumed that I’d never be able to afford something so luxurious. I was wrong.

Elements Massage makes it possible for everyone to treat themselves to some self-care. Also, there are many health benefits of massages. Which is great because you can feel even less guilty about escaping your crazy life for a little while.

Elements Massage is an affordable, nationwide chain of salons. In 2000, Michele Merhib wanted to open her own business. She rented a space from a country club and began offering massages. Eventually, Merhib was able to open a studio in Aurora, Colorado and then another one in the nearby town of Centennial.

In 2006, the young entrepreneur formed a partnership with Fitness Together Holdings and franchised her business. There are now more than 200 Elements Massage locations across the country.

Elements Massage provides high-quality massage services to their clients. With a high customer service rating and a fantastic reputation, you know that when you stop by one of their salons you will get incredible service.

As I mentioned, the price for an Elements Massage is very affordable. The following is an estimated cost of their services. While they may fluctuate a little bit from location to location, this is about what you are looking at:

Therapeutic massages: an Elements Massage specialty

A therapeutic massage is a massage intended to restore the body’s natural functions. Your massage therapist will use light to firm touch in order to release tension, relax muscles, calm you down and increase blood flow. There are a number of different types of therapeutic massages.

First, there is the age-old deep tissue massage. You may want one of these if you have a chronic injury or spend a lot of time in the same position, like peering at a computer all day. Your massage therapist will use slow strokes and deep pressure to work your muscles and give your relief.

Another type of therapeutic massage is a Swedish massage. Your therapist will knead you in order to release tension. It stimulates connective tissue, nerve endings and promotes blood flow. Further, a neuromuscular massage will treat chronic pain and improve muscular imbalances. While a Reiki massage can speed up healing, reduce pain and decrease symptoms associated with ailments.

Finally, hot stone massage therapy is done with, you guessed it, hot stones and can be extremely relaxing.

The type of massage you choose depends on what your ultimate goal is. Elements Massage offers all different types of therapy. You just speak with your massage therapist and let them know what you hope to gain from the therapy, They will help you determine which type of therapeutic massage is best for you.

Health benefits of Elements spa

As I mentioned, therapeutic massages have a ton of health benefits. That’s what makes it so great. Not only are you treating yourself to an hour of relaxation, but it will improve your health.

According to Johns Hopkins, a world-renowned hospital, research has found that massages help a variety of ailments. For instance, if you have chronic pain related to arthritis, headaches, sciatica, injuries or fibromyalgia, a massage can help you cope with the pain.

Hopkins also says that regular massages help people who have problems with depression, anxiety or stress. The massage promotes “relaxation response” and “enhances coping mechanisms in patients undergoing treatment for cancer.” The therapy also reduces the symptoms of debilitating stress, anxiety and depression disorders.

As someone who suffers from endometriosis, a chronic disorder related to the female reproductive system, I can attest to the benefits of massage therapy. When I am experiencing a flare-up, I book an appointment with my Elements Massage therapist and she gives me a full body massage. Since stress makes the symptoms of the disorder worse and abdominal pain is excruciating, the massage has dual purposes. I am not only relaxed when my appointment is over, but the therapist has rubbed my abdomen which helps with the pain. Sometimes these massages are more beneficial than the pain medication I am forced to take.

How to find Elements Massage locations

Elements Massage has locations all across the country. If you would like to find a studio near you, that can be accomplished in a variety of ways. First, you can just do a quick Google search for “Elements Massage near me” and the studios in your area will come up. The easiest way, however, is to go directly to the Elements Massage website and search directly on their site. You can do that by following this link.

Unfortunately, although the company has more than 200 locations across the country, there are still some states that do not have one yet. The following 17 states desperately need someone to open a few franchises: Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Arkansas, Alaska, Louisiana, Mississippi, Hawaii, West Virginia, Washington D.C., Delaware, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Maine.

If you live in one of those states, we are sorry. The good news is though, you probably have a great massage studio by your home. Don’t be afraid to ask your friends for advice about where to go. Also, go online and look for reviews. The internet is a great resource.

Go Get a Massage ASAP

Whether you have an Elements Massage near you or not, regular massages are definitely something that you should treat yourself to regularly. The health benefits, alone, are reason enough. Also, it’s just a nice thing to have done every once in awhile. Our lives are so busy and so full of stress that taking time out of them for ourselves is good for us.

If you do have an Elements Massage near you, book an appointment as soon as possible. Their staff is top notch. You will receive excellent service and customized care. You just have to speak to your therapist and explain what it is that you need. The best part though is that it is very affordable. Remember, new customers receive their first hour-long massage for just $49. That is unbelievably inexpensive for this type of service. Plus, if you want to add hot stones to that massage it is still just $59.
