What is threading and what is waxing? Is one better than the other? There is some pros and cons for both, but can one be better for you as an individual?

Waxing is a method of removing the hair from the root. It removes a larger amount of hair in a quick manner. Strip waxing is the most common and what you probably get done in the salon. Strip waxing is when they place the wax combination over the skin. With a paper strip they place over the applied wax and cause friction.

People still wax for a few reasons. Some have just always stuck to waxing and do not want to switch up because waxing is what they are used to. They don’t want to venture and try new things. Also threading can cause friction between the thread and the skin. This can be very uncomfortable to come people. Many also stick to waxing because of time wise. Waxing does not take much time.

This is where you could have some cons to the waxing. The wax they apply is sometimes way too hot. This causes your skin then to blister and may take a layer of skin off.

The paper strip is placed over the wax. This is where the brow is prepped right before it the hair is going to be removed. You have to press the paper strip across the wax a few times in order to be able top tip all the hairs out.

This is your final product after the wax has been pulled off. The redness will be there for a couple minutes. You may also have to take the tweezers if a few hairs did not get pulled out.

To thread you need to use two cotton threads. With the cotton threads you will wrap it around the hairs. Threading will take multiple hairs out at once. The threading rips the hair out front he root of the follicle.

Threading is a newer way to fix up your eyebrows. Threading is becoming very popular since it gives you the best shape. Many famous people also have turned to threading which who doesn’t want eyebrows like Kim Kardashian? With threading you do not have any chemicals being used. So if you have sensitive skin threading might be the right move for you. If I get my eyebrows waxed, I usually still see a hair that popped up by the next day. With threading your hair will not grow back for about three to four weeks.

Here is where your eyebrows before you get down to threading.

This is where the two threads come together. The threads move in a continuous motion across the skin.

You can really tell the difference in this picture of what threading really can do for you. Waxing can come close to having the same outcome. Threading will just give you the sharper completed look.

Pricing will vary depending on location and salon. The prices for threading can range from $12-$55. This would include both brows and also in between. For waxing it will be much cheaper. It is cheaper because it is not as time consuming. The cost of waxing for eyebrows varies from $7-$12, but could always be different depending again on where you are.
